The Lakers and Huskies played tight volleyball through the 20-point mark of each set, however, the Huskies scored the key points in each game to pull out the victory. MTU outhit the Lakers .189-.121 and held a 50-34 advantage in kills. The Lakers did hold a 14-6 advantage in blocks, but defensively Michigan Tech outdistanced GVSU in digs 84-66.
Karlie Kucharczk led GVSU in kills with 10, followed by
Ali Thompson (6),
Sarah Wight (6) and
Jaelianna Primus (6).
Erin O'Leary dished out 16 assists and
