The Grand Valley State men's tennis team tallied a season-opening 7-0 win over Findlay Saturday (Feb. 1) at Grand Rapids Racquet & Fitness. The Lakers will next be in action at Indiana Wesleyan Friday (Feb. 7) and Indianapolis Saturday (Feb. 8).
Grand Valley State picked up wins at all six singles slots, including straight set wins by
Martin Matov (6-3, 6-0) at #3 and
Ignacio Morera-Lucas (6-3, 7-5) at #5.
Jack Geissler claimed a 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 win at #1 singles, followed by a 6-3, 6-7, 6-4 win by
Jack Dausman at #2 singles.
Sean Miller picked up a 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 win at #4 singles, while
DJ Colantone added a tough 7-6, 4-6, 10-8 win at #6 singles.
GVSU claimed the doubles point by picking up wins at #1 (Dausman/Matov) and #3 doubles (Miller/
Ryan Rhoades).
