Box Score FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. – After a big comeback win earlier today, the Lakers dropped a tough match against the 22
nd ranked Wildcats of Wayne State (Neb.) 3-0 (14-25, 8-25, 19-25) at the NSU Shark Invite on Friday. GVSU now sits at 3-3 overall with a pair of matches tomorrow before beginning GLIAC play at home on Friday, September 20 against Northern Michigan at 7:00 P.M.
The Lakers fell behind early as Wayne State led 15-5 in set one and grew their lead as big as 13 points at 23-10. GVSU, trailing 24-11, scored three straight points before the Wildcats finished the set.
Wayne State jumped out early in set two as well. The Wildcats led 7-5 and then proceeded on a 10-1 scoring run to take control of the set.
GVSU led 7-2 in set three before seven straight points were scored by Wayne State. The Lakers held a lead of 15-14 but the Wildcats capitalized on attack errors by the Lakers to seize the lead.
Wayne State dominated most of the statistical categories with 33 kills, a .234 attack percentage, 10 blocks, and eight service aces.

GVSU will be back in action tomorrow with two matches against Nova Southeastern at 12:00 P.M. and Florida Tech at 2:30 P.M.
