The Grand Valley State women's tennis team captured a 6-1 victory over Bellarmine and snapped the Knights' six match home win-streak on Sunday (March 17) in Louisville, Kentucky. With the win the Lakers improved to 19-4 on the season and are now 7-0 during away matches, while the Knights dropped to 8-3 overall.

The Lakers started the match off with a sweep in doubles, as Madison Ballard and Marija Leko won 6-2 from No. 1 doubles, while Vera Griva and Marily Canellopoulos captured a 6-1 win from the No. 2 pairing. Livia Christman and Nicole Heiniger also won 6-4 from the No. 3 spot.

GVSU continued to dominate Bellarmine as they won five out of six matches in singles. Playing from the No. 1 spot was Griva, who won 6-4, 6-3, while Ballard tallied a 6-3, 6-4 win from No. 2 singles. Canellopoulos captured a 6-3, 6-3, victory from the No. 4 spot and Christman won in two sets from the No. 5 slot by a score of 6-4, 6-4. Heiniger captured the team's sixth point after she won in three sets, after she fell in the first, 6-4, but then won the second and third sets, 7-5, 10-1. The Knights claimed their only point of the match after Leko was defeated in three sets by a score of 1-6, 6-3, 6-7(5).

Grand Valley State will be back in action on April 6-7, when they travel to Stow, Ohio for neutral site matches against Indiana (PA) and Wilmington (Del.).
