The Grand Valley State men's tennis team traveled to Evansville, Ind. on Saturday (March 16) and defeated Southern Indiana, 4-1, at the Wesselman's Tennis Center. With the win, the Lakers improved to 9-4 this season while the Screaming Eagles now hold a 6-7 record.

GVSU scored the first point of the match after they claimed the point in doubles with wins from the No. 2 and No. 3 positions.
Jack Geissler and
Martin Matov won 6-3 from No. 2 doubles, while
Nicholas Urban and
Jack Dausman worked together and captured a 6-4 win from the No. 3 pairing.
GVSU continued its strong in singles as they captured three out of four matches.
Sebastien Lescoulie captured the first point in singles, as the Laker senior won his 10
th match this season from No. 1 singles with a score of 6-1, 6-0. Playing well from the No. 6 singles position was
Nicholas Urban as he tallied a 6-0, 6-1 win, while Geissler clinched the match from the No. 2 slot after he won 6-4, 6-3. USI captured its lone point of the afternoon, after Matov fell in three sets from No. 4 singles by a score of 4-6, 6-4, 6-10.

Grand Valley State returns home on Thursday (March 21) as they host regional opponent Hillsdale, at 11 a.m. at the Premier Athletic & Tennis Club in Grandville, Mich.
