The 2018 Grand Valley State baseball team will play the first game of a four-game GLIAC series today (March 23) at Purdue Northwest. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m. at Albert's Diamond Jewelers Field in Dowling Park. The Lakers come in 11-8 overall, while the Pride are 7-4. Saturday's twinbill will start 2 p.m., with the series finale on Sunday set for a 1 p.m. first pitch. This will be the first-ever meeting between Grand Valley State and Purdue Northwest. GVSU has played its entire schedule (19 games) to this point of the season at either a neutral site (7-6) or on the road for a true road contest (4-2).

Ryan Arnold leads the Lakers on the hill with a 4-0 mark and a 2.92 ERA. Arnold has 24 strikeouts and just nine walks in 24.2 innings pitched, with eight of his 10 runs allowed being earned.
Austin Kordik leads the Pride with a .400 batting average this season, including 15 runs scored and nine RBI. Jimmy Skiff is 2-0 with a 0.89 ERA in 11 innings pitched.
