The #23-ranked Grand Valley State women's tennis team concluded its Spring Trip and improved to 18-3 on the season after they defeated Auburn Montgomery, 6-3, on Monday night (March 12). The Lakers finished their trip with a 4-2 record.

GVSU captured one point during doubles action as
Livia Christman and
Abby Perkins tallied a point from No. 3 doubles with an 8-3 win over Tonja Foessmeier and Sofia Mustre. AUM claimed two points in doubles as
Aimee Moccia and
Alexa Sweeney were defeated 8-3, by Julie Enderink and Sofia Narvarro from No. 1 doubles.
Madison Ballard and
Nicole Heiniger were also defeated from the No. 2 doubles position by Alba De la Torre and Anejandra Gil by a score of 8-6.

In singles actions, the Lakers won five out of six matches. Playing from No. 1 singles, Ballard won 6-3, 6-3, over Navarro, while Sweeney fought hard from the No. 2 singles position, but was defeated by Mustre 7-5, 6-3. Moccia (6-4, 6-1), Perkins (6-2, 6-1),
Olivia Hanover (6-2, 7-6 (5)) and Christman all won from the No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles positions.

Grand Valley State's next matches will be on Saturday (March 24) and Sunday (March 25), as they will play Nebraska Omaha and Valparaiso at the Northwest Athletic Club in Michigan City, Indiana.
