Lakers Set For GLIAC Tennis Tournament

The Grand Valley State women's tennis team is set to compete in the 2018 GLIAC Women's Tennis Tournament this weekend from Friday Oct. 26 through Sunday Oct. 28, at the Greater Midland Tennis Complex in Midland, Michigan.

The Lakers are tabbed as the No. 1 seed going into the tournament and look to defend their tournament title after they won it last season. GVSU captured its sixth GLIAC title in program history and were named 2018 GLIAC Regular Season Co-Champions with Northwood, after they defeated the Timberwolves, 6-1, in the regular season that helped the Lakers secure the number one seed.

Grand Valley State (8-1 overall, 8-1 GLIAC) will face the eighth seed Ashland (3-8 overall, 2-7 GLIAC) in the quarterfinals on Friday (Oct. 26) with first serve starting at 6:45 p.m. The Lakers defeated the Eagles earlier this season by a score of 7-0.
