The Grand Valley State women's tennis team will face the Dragons of Tiffin in the first round of the NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament. The match is set to be played at Center Grove High School in Greenwood, Ind. at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 1. Should there be inclement weather, the match will be moved inside to the UIndy Tennis Center, which is located on campus.
The Lakers wrapped up their season with a 21-8 overall record while going 14-4 against regional opponents and 9-2 in GLIAC play. This will be the third meeting this season between these teams, with Tiffin holding a 2-0 advantage over the Lakers. The last meeting was on Oct. 29 when the Dragons narrowly defeated the Lakers 5-4 in the GLIAC Tournament.Â
The winner of Monday's match will move on to face host school Indy on Tuesday, May 2.Â
This will be the 17th consecutive year that the women have been selected to participate in the NCAA Tournament, having done so since the 2000-2001 season.Â
