The #4-ranked Grand Valley State football team will hit the road for a non-conference matchup at Truman State Saturday (Oct. 14). The Lakers have won five consecutive games and look to continue to build on positive momentum. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET.

The Series
Today's meeting will be the fifth all-time between the schools and the third under the name of Truman State. Truman State, which was formerly known as Northeast Missouri State, claimed victories over the Lakers in 1987 (30-24) and 1988 (36-35), but GVSU claimed a 31-15 over the Bulldogs in 2013.

Garrett Pougnet was named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts vs. Saginaw Valley State. Pougnet tallied six tackles (4 solo/2 assisted), one QB sack (-8), one tackle for loss (-8), returned an interception 29 yards and returned a fumble 37 yards for a touchdown.
