#3 Grand Valley State will continue a three-game homestand to open the 2016 season with a league tilt versus Lake Erie College. GVSU is coming off a 45-7 season-opening win over Tiffin, while the Storm dropped a 38-35 decision at home to Northern Michigan in overtime.

Lake Erie jumped out to a 29-7 lead on Northern Michigan, but a kickoff return for a TD with five seconds left in the first half and 11 points in the final 3:05 of the fourth quarter for the Wildcats sent the game into overtime. Tiffin kicked a 31 yard field goal to take a 35-32 lead, but Northern Michigan scored on a 6-yard TD run for the win. Desmon Turner led LE with 114 yards and two TDs on 22 carries, while QB John Banyasz passed for 147 yards and ran for 108 yards and two TDs. Turner added three catches for 55 yards. PK Austin Baker was 3-for-3 in field goals.

Terrell Dorsey rushed 15 times for 100 yards vs. Tiffin, marking the second and only time in his career that Dorsey reached the 100-yard mark. The other was in 2014 when Dorsey rushed for 115 yards versus the Tiffin Dragons.

Ollie Ajami rushed for 82 yards and two TDs on six carries vs. Tiffin.

Marty Carter rushed nine times for 57 yards in the first half vs. Tiffin...Carter has 946 career rushing yards heading into the Lake Erie game and needs just 54 yards to become the 35th player in Laker football history to reach the 1,000-yard mark.

Matt Williams hauled in two passes for 30 yards vs. Tiffin...Williams has 86 catches for 1,568 receiving yards.

• Tiffin QB Antonio Pipkin was the 2015 GLIAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2015 and averaged 310.8 yards of total offense per game. Last Thursday vs. GVSU Pipkin was held to 170 yards of total offense.
• The Grand Valley State defense held Tiffin to 1-for-10 on third down conversions...On the flip side GVSU was 7-for-13.
