#2 Grand Valley State will hit the road for a GLIAC gridiron matchup with Ohio Dominican Saturday afternoon at Panther Stadium. Kickoff in Columbus is set for 12 noon. The #2-ranked Lakers are 4-0 both overall and in GLIAC action, while the Panthers are 2-2.

• Grand Valley State and Ohio Dominican have split four games in the all-time series, each winning on the road and at home. Grand Valley State claimed a 27-24 victory over the Panthers a year ago in Columbus to even the series at 2-2. ODU had won two consecutive games in the series after GVSU claimed a 46-41 win in the first-ever meeting in 2012.

• Last Week
Grand Valley State claimed a 38-0 win at Walsh. The shutout was the Lakers' first since a 28-0 win at Tiffin in 2012. Bart Williams completed 13-of-26 passes for 201 yards and three TDs, while running back Marty Carter rushed for 98 yards on 15 carries. RB Terrell Dorsey rushed for 41 yards and two TDs on 11 carries. WR Nick Dodson caught four passes for 99 yards, including a 50-yard TD reception, while Matt Williams hauled in three catches for 28 yards and a TD. LB Joe Moran led the defense with eight tackles, a TFL (-1) and a 10 yard fumble return, while David Talley chipped in seven stops and a TFL (-3).

#2 Grand Valley State will stay on the road for the second consecutive week after claiming a 38-0 win at Walsh last Saturday. It marked the programs first shutout on the road since a 28-0 win at Tiffin in 2012. The Lakers went 3-0 on a three-game home stand to open the season. GVSU defeated Tiffin 45-7, Lake Erie 55-7 and Northern Michigan 50-24. 

• Grand Valley State is in its 46th season of football and sport a 375-137-3 all-time record. GVSU's .7310 winning percentage tops all Division II schools and is third all-time in all divisions behind Michigan (.733) and Notre Dame (.7312).

• Grand Valley State remained #2 in the AFCA Division II Coaches' poll with 713 points after a 38-0 victory at Walsh last Saturday. NW Missouri State is #1 with all 30 first place votes and 750 points.

• Grand Valley State has been ranked in the top five of 148 AFCA Division II Coaches' polls since 2001, including 102 weeks as the number one team in the country.

• Grand Valley State leads the GLIAC in scoring offense (47.0 ppg/7th NCAA), rushing offense (318.5 ypg/6th NCAA), total offense (564.5 ypg/4th NCAA), total defense (259.5 ypg/8th NCAA), rushing defense (84.5 ypg/11th NCAA) and scoring defense (9.5 ppg/4th NCAA). 

• The Lakers have outscored their first four opponents 61-0 in the first quarter and 56-3 in the second quarter for a first half total of 117-3 (29.2 - 0.75)...GVSU has scored in 15-of-16 quarters this season, with the third quarter versus Lake Erie (up 42-0 at half) being the only non-scoring quarter.

• GVSU has converted an incredible 33-of-49 (67.0%) attempts on 3rd down this season ranking first in the GLIAC and second nationally, while the opposition is 14-for-51 (27.0%), ranking GVSU 1st in the gliac and 19th nationally in third down defense.

• The Laker offense has been explosive the first four games of the season with 32 plays that have gone for 20 yards or more, including 10 of which have gone for TDs...RB Marty Carter leads the way with six, followed by Urston Smith and Matt Williams with five each.

• The starting Laker defense has yielded 507 yards on 34 drives and 156 plays in 11 quarters of action this season...Opponents are averaging 3.25 yards per play and 14.9 yards per drive...The GVSU starters have yielded 17 points this season.

• The Laker defense ranks first in the GLIAC and 8th nationally in QB sacks with 16 (-91), while also ranking first in the GLIAC and 17th nationally in tackles for loss with 36 (-142). 

• The GVSU defense has forced 15 three-and-outs and 24 drives have been five plays or less in four games.

• QB Bart Williams has completed 51-of-87 passes for 922 yards and 10 TDs this season, having played in just 11 of 16 quarters...Williams became just the eighth QB in Laker football history to surpass the 5,000 yard career passing mark (5,137) and did so in 19 career games played. Williams has 56 TD passes (2.94 pg)...Bart ranks 7th in the country in pass efficiency rating (181.0), 21st in passing TDs (10) and 66th in total offense (245.5).

• Sophomore RB Marty Carter has toted the ball 53 times for 597 yards and six TDs in just 10 quarters of football...Carter is averaging 149.2 yards per game and 11.3 yards per rush...Marty ranks 2nd in the GLIAC and 6th in the country in rushing yards per game (149.2)..Ranks 4th in the GLIAC and 36th in the country in all-purpose yards per game (149.8 ypg)...Carter is 14 yards shy of becoming the 25th Laker all-time to reach the 1,500-yard rushing mark (1,486). 
        • Rushed for 98 yards on 15 carries in three quarter of action at Walsh (9/24)...Carter tallied a record-setting performance with 298 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries in a 50-24 victory over Northern Michigan (9/17) in which he was named the D2Football.com National Offensive Player of the Week and the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week....Carter's rushing total was a GVSU single-game record and tied for the 10th-best, single-game total in GLIAC history...Former Laker Chris Robinson previously held the record with 261 yards on 33 carries at Findlay 2014.
• Carter rushed for 144 yards and two TDs on nine carries vs. Lake Erie (9/10) in the first half and was named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week. His 79 yard TD run was the longest for a TD since Brent Lesniak went 80 yards for a TD in 2001 vs. Ashland. Mike Ratay had an 87 yard run at Northwood in 2013, but did not score...Carter touched the ball 10 times in the game for 146 all-purpose yards, averaging 16.0 yards per rush and 14.6 yards per touch. He went 79 yards for a TD on the first play of the game and then added a 30-yard touchdown run and a 2-yard TD reception in the first quarter.  

• Senior RB Terrell Dorsey ranks second on the squad in rushing with 44 carries for 243 yards and four TDs...Toted the ball 11 times for 37  yards and two TDs at Walsh (9/24)...Dorsey rushed for 51 yards and one TD on 12 carries vs. Northern Michigan (9/17)...Rushed 15 times for 100 yards vs. Tiffin (9/1), marking the second and only time in his career that Dorsey reached the 100-yard mark...The other was in 2014 when Dorsey rushed for 115 yards versus the Tiffin Dragons. 

• Senior WR Matt Williams has 12 catches for 205 yards and three TDs...Tallied three catches for 28 yards and a TD at Walsh (9/24)...Williams hauled in sixth catches for 118 yards and two TDs vs. Northern Michigan (9/17)...Matt has 96 career catches for 1,743 receiving yards and 23 TDs in his career. ..Nine career 100-yard receiving games...Needs four catches to become the 17th player in GVSU history to reach the 100 catch mark and 257 receiving yards to reach to 2,000 yard mark (10th).

• Junior WR Brandon Bean leads the team in receptions with 13 and is second in receiving yards with 233...Hauled in one TD pass and rushed for another...Caught five passes for 101 yards and a TD vs. Northern Michigan (9/17)...Bean caught six passes for 112 yards in the opener vs. Tiffin (9/1)...Brandon has 52 career receptions for 950 career receiving yards and nine TDs...Five career 100-yard receiving games...Needs 50 yards to reach the 1,000-yard receiving mark.

• Grand Valley State set a single-game, school-record for total offense vs. Northern Michigan with 741 yards (449 rushing/292 passing), breaking the previous record of 731 yards vs. Valparaiso on Oct. 28, 1989.
