Final Results
ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team returned to action on Sunday morning against Lake Superior State and came away with a 9-0 win at the GVSU Tennis Courts in Allendale.
Doubles action in Sunday's match saw dominant performances by each pair of Lakers. No. 1 doubles included GVSU's
Madison Ballard and
Alexa Sweeney defeating Tara Harvey and Jenay Andrews 8-1. In No. 2 doubles,
Rachel Sumner and
Aimee Moccia took down Allison Grandfield and Macarena Bielsa 8-1. No. 3 doubles saw
Abby Perkins and
Livia Christman defeat Laura Roberts and Kirsten Malpass 8-1.

For the second time over the weekend, every singles competitor for GVSU was able to take their match in straight sets. Perkins put up an impressive win in No. 3 singles, where she grabbed a victory over Lake Superior's Bielsa 6-1, 6-1. In No. 5 and No. 6 singles,
Nicole Heiniger and
Katarina Samardzija made quick work with each of their opponents. Heiniger defeated Lake Superior's Andrews 6-0, 6-0. Samardzija won her match 6-0, 6-0 as well, taking down Grandfield of Lake Superior State.
The Lakers hit the tennis courts again next weekend when they travel to Holland, Mich. where they will compete in the Hope College Invitational on Sept. 16
th and 17
th.
