ALLENDALE, Mich. – Grand Valley State women's tennis closed out the regular season with an 8-1 win at home over Aquinas College at the GVSU Tennis Courts. The win gives the Lakers a 23-6 record to conclude the regular season.
 
GV swept Aquinas (7-11) in doubles competition, winning all three matches by a combined score of 24-10. Rachel Sumner/Aimee Moccia won match No. 1 8-6, Alexa Sweeney/Samantha Schrepferman won 8-1 in match No. 2, and Abby Perkins/Livia Christman took match No. 3 8-3.
 
The Lakers captured five of six flights in singles competition to win the match over visiting Aquinas, all in straight sets. Sweeney took match two (7-5, 6-0), Moccia won match three (6-1, 6-0), Christman won match four (6-1, 6-0), Nicole Heiniger won match five (6-3, 6-1), and Schrepferman took match six (6-1, 6-2) to win their 23rd match of the season.
