ORLANDO – Grand Valley State women's tennis concludes their Spring Break Florida trip by going 1-1 on the final day of competition. The Lakers, ranked 28
th in the nation and third in the Midwest Region, won 8-1 over University of the Sciences and lost 9-0 to #6 Lynn in Orlando. Friday's split puts the Lakers at 19-4 overall on the year, as GVSU went 4-2 on their week-long stay in the Sunshine State.

Against the Devils, Grand Valley State started off the match with a sweep of doubles competition.

Calla Ramont shutout their opponents in the two and three matches, while

Aimee Moccia won match one 8-5. Grand Valley State won five of six singles matches to earn the team win. Lang blanked her opponent in the No. 5 match, while the other four wins came by a combined score of 24-4, 24-2.

Against the Fighting Knights, Grand Valley State was swept in doubles and singles competition in Kissimmee.

Livia Christman came the closest in doubles to winning a point, falling 8-6. IN singles,
Madison Ballard and
Alexa Sweeney both forced their opponents into a tiebreaker set before losing the match. Ballard lost match No. 5 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 7-5, while Sweeney dropped match No. 2 6-2, 4-6, 6-2.

The Lakers won't see another opponent until March 25-26, when they travel to Indiana to take on Indianapolis on March 25 and Missouri-St. Louis on March 26.
