#3 Grand Valley State (12-0) will host #15 Ferris State Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. in the NCAA Division II Super Region 4 final. Tickets are available by calling (616) 331-3200, on-line at gvsulakers.com TICKETS.

The Grand Valley State Football Radio Network will carry every Laker football game live on its flagship station ESPN 96.1 FM. Steve Lloyd-Jones handle the play-by-play. The GVSU Football Tailgate show will begin 90 minutes prior to kickoff on ESPN 96.1. The hour-long pregame show will be broadcast on all GVSU Football affiliates 90 minutes before kickoff.

• The Series
Grand Valley State leads the all-time series with Ferris State by a 29-16-1 margin. The Lakers have won 16-of-the-last-21 meetings between the schools, including the two most recent. GVSU claimed a 38-34 win at Ferris State in the NCAA Playoffs last November and then defeated the Bulldogs earlier this season 35-23 at Lubbers Stadium. GVSU is 14-9 at Lubbers Stadium versus the Bulldogs and 15-7-1 at Top Taggart Field 

• Grand Valley State is making its 18th trip to the NCAA DII Playoffs, the third highest total among active DII schools. In addition, GVSU's 35 wins and .728 winning percentrage both rank second all-time in DII playoff history. GVSU is 35-13 all-time in the NCAA DII playoffs, including a 35-8 mark since 2001. GVSU is 8-3 in the NCAA playoffs under Mitchell. The Lakers have won four NCAA DII National Championships since 2002 and advanced to the NCAA title game six times since 2001. GVSU has advanced to at least the semifinals nine times since 2001. The Lakers have advanced to the NCAA DII Semifinals twice in the last three years.

• Grand Valley State is in its 46th season of football and sports a 383-137-3 all-time record. GVSU's .7349 winning percentage tops all of college football all-time, regardless of division, that have played at least 500 games. Michigan is second (.7324) and Notre Dame third (.7291).

• Grand Valley State finished the 2016 regular season ranked #2 in the AFCA Division II Coaches' poll with 712 points. NW Missouri State is #1 with all 30 first place votes and 750 points.
• Grand Valley State and North Alabama are the only schools in the country to have a Harlon Hill and Gene Upshaw Award finalists. Senior DE Sydney Omameh was a Gene Upshaw Award finalist, while sophomore running back Marty Carter is a finalist for the 2016 Harlon Hill Award. 

• Grand Valley State has been ranked in the top five of 157 AFCA Division II Coaches' polls since 2001, including 102 weeks as the number one team in the country.

• Grand Valley State has outscored its opponents 158-14 in the first quarter and 132-64 in the second quarter for a first half total of 290-81 (24.1-6.7). Grand Valley State did not yield either a first half or rushing TD until the eighth game of the season. After not giving up a TD in the first half of the first seven games, the Lakers did not yielded a TD in the second half of games nine and 10. 

• GVSU has converted 68-of-139 (49.0%) attempts on 3rd down this season, while the opposition is 56-for-170 (33.0%).

• The Laker defense ranks first in the GLIAC and 17th nationally in QB sacks with 39 (-231), while also ranking second in the GLIAC and 48th nationally in tackles for loss with 90 (-367). 

• GVSU ranks first in the GLIAC and 35th nationally in 3rd down conversion defense (.329), while ranking first in the GLIAC and 5th nationally in redzone defense (.611)

• The GVSU defense has forced 44 three-and-outs and 70 drives have been five plays or less in 12 games.

• QB Bart Williams earned All-GLIAC honors...Completed 179-of-291 passes for 3,024 yards and 30 TDs this season, having played in 41 of 48 quarters...Ranks 2nd in passing yards per attempt (10.4)...4th nationally in passing yards per completion (16.9) and 3rd in pass efficiency rating (176.0)...Ranks 14th in passing TDs (30)...Tossed two or more TD passes 10 times and three or more five times...Thrown for over 300 yards in three of the last four games...Williams has thrown for 7,239 yards and 76 TD passes in 27 career starts.

Marty tallied seven runs of 53 yards or more, six of which went for touchdowns and he has 20 rushing plays of 20 yards or more in 12 games. Carter broke the 100-yard rushing mark in nine games, including a GVSU single-season record four games of 200 yards or more.

• Carter tallied a record-setting performance with 298 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries in a 50-24 victory over Northern Michigan (9/17) in which he was named the D2Football.com National Offensive Player of the Week and the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week....Carter's rushing total was a GVSU single-game record and tied for the 10th-best, single-game total in GLIAC history...Former Laker Chris Robinson previously held the GV record with 261 yards on 33 carries at Findlay in 2014.
• Carter rushed for 144 yards and two TDs on nine carries vs. Lake Erie (9/10) in the first half and was named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week. His 79 yard TD run was the longest for a TD since Brent Lesniak went 80 yards for a TD in 2001 vs. Ashland...Carter touched the ball 10 times in the game for 146 all-purpose yards, averaging 16.0 yards per rush and 14.6 yards per touch. He went 79 yards for a TD on the first play of the game and then added a 30-yard touchdown run and a 2-yard TD reception in the first quarter.  
• Rushed for 57 yards and a TD on nine carries in opener vs. Tiffin...Played in the first half only. 

• Senior RB Terrell Dorsey ranks second on the squad in rushing with 108 carries for 544 yards and seven TDs.

• Redshirt freshman Dan Madden is averaging 38.0 yards per punt, including five of 50 yards or more and has dropped 16 inside the opponents 20 yard line.

• 26 different defenders have recorded a TFL this season for the Lakers and GVSU has 79 TFL for -308 yards.

• Grand Valley State set a single-game, school-record for total offense vs. Northern Michigan with 741 yards (449 rushing/292 passing), breaking the previous record of 731 yards vs. Valparaiso on Oct. 28, 1989.
