• A Year Ago - The game was tied at 14-14 after a crazy first quarter. ODU blocked a punt for a TD and scored on an 88-yard run by Brandon Shoen, while Brandon Bean hauled in an 18 yard pass and Michael Ratay scored on a 1-yard run for the Lakers. Matt Williams gave GVSU a 21-14 lead when he caught a 19 yard TD pass in the second quarter and Joel Schipper upped the GV lead to 24-14 with a third quarter field goal. However, ODU scored two TDs in the final six minutes to pull out the win. A 54-yard pass set up the first score and a 90-yard TD pass with 2:44 left was the game-winner.
