#39 GVSU Suffers 8-1 Defeat by #10 Nova Southeastern

ORLANDO – 39th-ranked Grand Valley State women's tennis suffered their first loss of their Spring Break trip, dropping a 8-1 decision to #10 Nova Southeastern at the Sanlando Park Tennis Center. The Lakers fall to 16-4 overall on the 2014-15 season, while the Sharks move to 9-0.
 
Morgan Patterson/Aimee Moccia picked up the lone win for GVSU as the No. 3 doubles pairing, winning a close 8-6 contest.
 
As for the singles side, Carola Orna and Abby Perkins were the only two to force a tiebreaker set. Orna won the second set of her match in the No. 3 position (6-4, 0-6, 10-5), and Perkins won the first set of her match from the No. 5 position (6-7 [7-9], 6-3, 10-5).
 
Grand Valley State will look to bounce back against Detroit-Mercy at the Lake Cane Tennis Center at 6:30 p.m.
