Grand Valley State welcomes West Michigan rival Ferris State to Allendale on Monday (Feb. 2) for a big GLIAC doubleheader inside the Fieldhouse Arena. The Laker women host FSU at 6:00 p.m., while GVSU takes on the #22 Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m.

The opening game features Grand Valley State and its 9-0 home record. GVSU, tied for second place in the GLIAC North Division standings and in a tie for third in the overall league standings, is 10-4 in conference play and 13-5 overall. Ferris State comes into Monday's contest with a 9-8 record and a 7-7 league mark.

Ferris State's men sit atop the GLIAC standings with a 13-1 league record, while the Bulldogs are 17-3 overall. The Lakers look to snap a five-game losing streak; GVSU is 9-11 overall and 5-9 in league action.

Tonight's games are the third doubleheader for both teams in a stretch of five games in 10 days. Both teams played last Thursday and Saturday and will do so again later this week. GVSU will stay at home for those games this weekend, as the Lakers host Northern Michigan on Thursday (Feb. 5) and Michigan Tech on Saturday (Feb. 7).

Both Monday games can be watched online or fans can listen to the radio broadcast of each contest. Links to watch and listen are listed at the top of this page. Both games will be aired on WTKG-AM 1230, while the men's game will also be played on WMUS 107.9 FM.

The Laker women had won three games in a row - and six of their last seven - before falling at Hillsdale last Saturday, 73-57. GVSU returns to Fieldhouse Arena, where it has won all nine games this season, only two of which were decided by single digits. Last season, Grand Valley State and Ferris State split their two meetings, with each team winning on its home floor.

GVSU's men have lost five games in a row, which includes a 73-65 loss at Hillsdale on Saturday. In two of those five games, the Lakers have owned a halftime lead, while also being tied (25-25) against Hillsdale. Grand Valley State won its first five home games this season and is 5-3 inside the Fieldhouse Arena. The Lakers swept FSU last year, winning easily at home (86-62) before earning a road overtime victory (74-73).

Thursday's home games against Northern Michigan will also be 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. starts.
