Box ScoreALLENDALE, Mich. – Grand Valley State's women's tennis team won their second match in as many days on Sunday, blowing past conference foe Lake Superior State, 9-0.
Leah Dancz won her first match of the season in the #1 position (6-3, 6-3), while the other girls on the squad all won their matches to improve to 2-0 on the very young season.
Kelly Trapp and
Rachel Sumner were the only two Lakers on the singles side to blank their opponents.
The pairing of Dancz and
Kali Phillips won their first doubles match of the season (9-8 [8-2]), while the teams of
Carola Orna/
Alexa Sweeney and
Aimee Moccia/
Morgan Patterson kept their Lake Superior State counterparts off the scoreboard, both groups winning 8-0. All in all, it was a dominating display for the Lakers.
Grand Valley State resumes play next Saturday, Sept. 13, when they hit the road to compete against GLIAC rival Saginaw Valley State at 1 pm.
