Lakers to Take on Northwood in Pair of Webcasted Games

GVSU will begin busy home week with 2 p.m. doubleheader against the Timberwolves

ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Grand Valley State baseball team will begin a five-game home stand on Wednesday (Apr. 30) with a 2 p.m. doubleheader against Northwood, the start of a busy week that will end the regular season.

The Lakers, who currently lead the standings in the GLIAC by one game, will play in five games this week, all at home.

Both ends of Wednesday's doubleheader will be webcasted live on gvsulakers.com at the links below. Fans can enjoy live video of the contests and play-by-play from Tom Cleary.

GVSU is 110-38 all-time against Northwood, including a victory on Monday (Apr. 28) in Midland, a game that saw the Lakers trail 4-0 early before storming back with seven unanswered runs in the final four innings, highlighted by Giancarlo Brugnoni's 45th career home run as GVSU won 7-4. The Lakers have won 12 straight games against Northwood dating back to April 11th, 2010.

A host of Lakers have had great success against Northwood in their careers, as Brugnoni has a .486 career batting average against the Timberwolves, followed by Mike Nadratowski (.407), Stuart Eisler(.385) and Jamie Potts (.353).
