Jamie Ashmore

Jamie Ashmore was named as an assistant coach for the women’s volleyball team prior to the 2021 season.

In her four years as an assistant, the Lakers have claimed one GLIAC regular season title and made three trips to the NCAA Tournament. She has coached 19 All-GLIAC players, five All-Region performers, and four All-Americans. 

Ashmore was a player in the GVSU women's volleyball program from 2005-2008. She was a four-year starter for the Lakers, where she led the team to its 2005 NCAA Division II National Championship. She was recognized as an All-American and earned First Team All-Region and All-GLIAC honors during her campaign at GVSU. During her junior and senior years, she was also recognized as the Most Valuable Player during the GLIAC conference tournament. 

Ashmore returns to the program after spending the last 10 years coaching for the Indiana University South Bend Titans, where she has been the one and only head coach of the volleyball program. She led them to four winning seasons and had 15 Titans named to CCAC All-Conference teams. During her tenure at IUSB, she accumulated a career record of 146-143 (.505) and led the program to three CCAC Championships and two NAIA National Tournament runs

Before leading the Titans, Ashmore was an administrator for the Dunes Volleyball Club in Rolling Prairie, Indiana. She guided the club's 15U team to a first-place finish in the Bronze Division at the AAU Nationals in Orlando.
