A second-year student assistant, Boerema is in control of the team's video coordination, as he films all practices and games. After games, he provides copies of the game film to the visiting opponents. Boerema also assists the coaching staff during practice, in particular Coach Bauer as they work on developing the team's post players.
Boerema speaks highly of his time as a student assistant with the team. "Working with the men's basketball program, I hope to be able to continue working with, and learning from, a great group of experienced and knowledgeable coaches here at Grand Valley State. I also hope to continue to serve the staff, team, and GVSU community, all while enjoying the tremendous opportunity I've been afforded."
