2015: Named as an All-GLIAC Honorable Mention selection…Earned GLIAC All-Academic Team honors…Appeared in all 32 matches in first and only season with the Lakers after playing three years of club volleyball at GVSU; was only player on the team to play in all 122 sets…Ranked fourth in GLIAC in digs (562), seventh in digs per set (4.61), eighth in service aces (38), and 11th in service aces per set (0.31)…Finished fourth in Laker single season history with 562 digs, trailing only GVSU all-time digs leader Allyson Riley on the list…Also finished sixth in school single season history with 4.61 digs per set…Led GVSU in digs, digs per set, service aces, and aces per set…First Laker to lead team in total digs and aces since Sacha Gill in 2010 and only third GVSU player to do so since 2000…Finished third on the team with 112 assists…Tallied double-digit digs in 29 of 32 matches and 20 or more digs in 16 contests…Recorded 18-match streak of double-digit digs and posted nine 20+ dig outings during that span (Sept. 18 to Nov. 6)…Totaled season-high 26 digs twice: in season-opener (and first collegiate match) against Concordia-Portland (Sept. 4) and in home win against Ohio Dominican (Oct. 2), as both matches went four sets…Notched 25 digs against MSU-Moorhead (Sept. 11), at Northern Michigan (Oct. 30) and against Ferris State (Nov. 3), all of which were five-set contests…As team’s main passer in serve receive, she was aced just 30 times in 32 matches, including 26 matches of allowing one or zero aces…Served up an ace in 21 contests, while posting multiple aces in 11 matches…Delivered season-high four aces in 3-0 home win over Bemidji State (Sept. 5), just third-ever collegiate contest…Served three aces apiece against Concordia-Portland (Sept. 4), Minnesota Crookston (Sept. 12), at Malone (Sept. 25), and at Ferris State in GLIAC semifinals (Nov. 21).
 
Prior to GVSU: Played two and a half of years of club volleyball at Grand Valley State for head coach Anna Tollefson…Earned honorable mention all-state honors twice.
 
High School: Prepped at Northview High School under head coach Megan Ayers…Named to the OK White All-Conference team multiple times…Three-year varsity letterwinner…Also played four years of varsity basketball and varsity softball at Northview…Participated in Student Council and National Honor Society throughout high school.
 
Personal: Daughter of Tyler and Lucy Shomin…Enjoys school, being in the sun, and hanging out with family and friends…Majoring in elementary education with integrated sciences specialization.
