Spent two seasons at Lincoln Trail Junior College under head coach Kevin Bowers...Received a medical redshirt after an injury in 2012...In 2011, Abel hit .267 with seven doubles, two home runs, one triple, 24 runs, 17 RBI and struck out only six times in 141 plate appearances.
