Prepped at St. Clair High School under head coach Bill McElreath...As a senior, he was 5-2 with a 1.71 ERA and 49 strikeouts in 49 innings of work...Earned MAC White First Team, all-district, and academic all-district honors...Named the Blue Water Area All-Star Game MVP...As a junior, he was 7-1 with a 2.57 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 60 innings en route to being named MAC Blue First Team...As a sophomore, he went 4-0 with a 2.87 ERA, 24 strikeouts in 31.2 innings and had two saves...Earned Blue Water Area Honorable Mention plaudits...Helped team to the Division 2 state championship as a sophomore.
