2013-14: Finished in the top 10 in 11 shot put and weight throw events during the indoor season … Placed 12^th in the weight throw at the 2014 GLIAC Indoor Championships with a mark of 17.07m … His best finish of the season in the shot put came against Saginaw Valley State, where he placed fifth with a mark of 12.63m … Set a personal best in the weight throw with a mark of 17.97m at the GVSU Big Meet Invite … He set a personal best in the shot put in a sixth-place showing at the GVSU Laker Early Bird with a mark of 13.55m … During the outdoor season, Mike placed outside the top 10 only once in 15 events he competed in … He earned All-GLIAC honors at the 2014 GLIAC Outdoor Championships with a second place finish in the javelin throw (55.90m) and a ninth place finish in the hammer throw (53.14m) … He placed 17^th in the hammer throw at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships with a mark of 53.37m … Set a personal best in the hammer throw with a mark of 58.38m, placing him second at the Aquinas Twilight Invitational … In the discus, he set a personal best in a fifth-place finish at the Ernie Mousseau Track & Field Classic with a mark of 48.06m.
