PERU, IND. – The Grand Valley State men's golf team played the final 18 holes at the Midwest Collegiate, ending as the team runner-up. On the individual side, freshman
Nicolas Vincent was the overall winner, his first collegiate victory.
Results
Findlay shot the second lowest round of the day to climb from third to first and claim the team title, finishing with a score of -2. The Lakers were one shot back of them in second. In third was host UMSL at +2, with Maryville taking fourth, and UIS and Drury tying for fifth.
Vincent carded a final round of 69 (-3), sinking four birdies to force a playoff, which he won over Cahle Roth of Findlay. He finished the tournament at ten under par.
Jack Whitmore finished tied for 21
st at +3, shooting a final round of 73 (+1) with three birdies.
Maverick Conaway also took home all-tournament team honors, ending in third. He shot a 70 (-2) today, making four birdies to end at -8. In a tie for sixth was
Finley Dober, who shot a 75 (+3), with two birdies.
Emil Olofsson ended tied for 21
st at +3 following his round of 76 (+4).
Ryan Gallagher sank four birdies in his final round of 75 to tie for 29
th.
Barry O'Connell finished tied for 80
th after shooting a 78 (+6) today.
