FRIPP ISLAND, S.C. – The Grand Valley State men's golf team began their final tournament of the fall season, playing 36 holes at the Golfweek Fripp Island Invitational. After the first two rounds, the Lakers are in 11^th.

Florida Southern leads the field at -15, two shots up on second-place Columbus State. In third is Lee, who ended the day at two under. Pittsburgh-Johnstown is in fourth with a score of +5, followed by Palm Beach Atlantic at +6. The Lakers carded rounds of 300 (+12) and 290 (+2) to end in 11^th at +14.
 
Emil Olofsson had rounds of 74 (+2) and 70 (-2), sinking nine birdies on the day to finish even par in a tie for 13^th. Following his rounds of 73 (+1) and 74 (+2), Nicolas Vincent is tied for 28^th at +3, as he made seven birdies. Making four birdies in his rounds of 75 (+3) and 73 (+1), Finley Dober is tied for 39^th at +4. In a tie for 64^th is Barry O'Connell, who shot a 78 (+6) and a 77 (+5), making three birdies in each round. Maverick Conaway shot an 84 (+12) and a 73 (+1) to end in a tie for 69^th after making five birdies.
