#6 Grand Valley State claimed a 14-9 victory over Saginaw Valley State in the Sunday series finale, taking the series win (3-1) in the Battle of the Valley's. GVSU improves to 33-7 overall and 13-3 in GLIAC action. The Lakers will host Tiffin in a non-conference contest Tuesday at 3 p.m.

Ayden VanEnkevort singled home a pair of runs and Gill walked with the bases loaded to give GVSU a 4-0 lead.Â
Leading 4-1, the Lakers added five runs in the top of the fifth on four hits. Brandt singled and VanEnkevort walked with one out. Morrison plated Brandt and CF
Ryan Stimac drove in a pair with a single to center. Gill then hit a two-run bomb to right to give GVSU a 9-1 lead. Gill drove in another run in the top of the seventh.Â
Leading 10-5, the Lakers put the game out of reach with four in the top of the ninth. 3B
Caleb Estrada drove in two with a double, LF
Nolan Alvord doubled home Estrada and then later scored on a wild pitch.Â
Ethan Houghtaling picked up the win on the mound, yielding one run on two hits in 2.1 innings.Â
Gill was 2-for-5 with a home run and five RBI, while Morrison was 3-for-6 with an RBI and four runs scored. Stimac was 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs, VanEnkevort was 2-for-4 with two RBI and Fleming was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Brandt was 2-for-3 with two runs and two walks. Â
