GRANDVILLE, Mich. – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team claimed the outright GLIAC regular season championship with a 6-1 win over Davenport in the final match of the regular season. The Lakers earned their ninth straight win and improve to 15-1 on the season and a perfect 7-0 in the GLIAC.
GVSU claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
Natasha Sengphrachanh and
Vale Mozas tallied a 6-4 win at the top doubles position.
Amanda Diaz and
Rachel Sam posted a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles.
Mischa Briggs and
Ipek Sakiroglu dropped a 4-6 decision at No. 2 doubles.
In singles action,
Natasha Sengphrachanh claimed a dominate 6-2, 6-0 straight set win at the top singles position.
Mischa Briggs tallied a 6-1, 6-2 straight set win at No. 2 singles.
Vale Mozas earned a 4-6, 7-6, 6-4 three-set win at No. 3 singles.
Anna Soteras posted a 7-6, 6-1 straight set win at No. 5 singles.
Lauren Burkett recorded a 6-2, 6-4 straight set win at No. 6 singles.
Ipek Sakiroglu lost a 3-6, 3-6 decision at No. 4 singles.
