ST. PAUL, MICH. –
The Lakers raced out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, outshooting the Golden Bears 9-3 over the first 15 minutes. The lead grew to 8-0, before CSP finally got on the board. Two more GVSU goals before the half made it 10-1 at the break.
GVSU scored the first four goals of the second half, increasing their lead up to 12-1. The Golden Bears got one back, but two more Laker goals gave them their largest margin of victory this season.
Goalkeeper
Sarah Krause set a new career-high with 14 saves, posting a .875 save percentage. Krause,
Karleigh Rothe, and
Quinn McElroy all picked up five groundballs, with both Rothe and McElroy each causing two turnovers.
Ella Boose and
Gracie Bancroft each tallied a hat trick, with
Veronica Ziemer scoring twice.
Jillian Bingman,
Indira Marker,
Mara Misiurewicz,
Delaney Smith,
Sydney Grafton,
Leah Leonard,
Tali Baldzicki, and
Emerson Holthouser each scored once. Smith dished out four assists, while Bancroft, Bingman, Marker,
Kendra Swope, and
Camryn Swiggum all had one assist. Boose gathered five draw controls and
Isabella De La Cerda had four.
