Ella Boose Scores Six Times To Help Lead GVSU To GLIAC-Opening Victory

ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Grand Valley State women's lacrosse team opened up GLIAC play Friday evening, hosting Northern Michigan. Behind six goals from Ella Boose, and a great defense, the Lakers pulled out a 9-4 victory, their second straight win.

Ella Boose got the scoring started with two goals in the first 8:12 of the game. NMU got on the board, but a third Boose goal to end the quarter put GVSU up by two. Veronica Ziemer and Boose both scored in the second period to make the score 5-1 at halftime.

Two straight Wildcats goals got them back in the game early in the second half, but Boose and Eliana LaMange ended the rally with back-to-back goals. After one more Wildcat score, Boose and Ziemer put the game away with one more goal each.

Boose scored six times, the first of which gave her over 100 points in her career. She, along with Isabella De La Cerda, each had three draw controls. Veronica Ziemer tallied two goals, and Eliana LaMange had one. Delaney Smith and Jillian Bingman each distributed one assist.

In the cage, Sarah Krause saved eight shots and picked up two groundballs. Kylie Waeghe forced three turnovers and had two groundballs, while Quinn McElroy and Karleigh Rothe also forced two turnovers. The Laker defense held the nation's leading scorer Josie Lakosky to zero points on eight shots.
