ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Grand Valley State women's lacrosse team picked up their third straight victory, and their second in GLIAC play, earning a 7-4 win over Concordia-St. Paul. The win keeps them undefeated in conference play at 2-0 and moves them to 3-7 overall this season.
After the Golden Bears struck first, GVSU responded with three straight goals.
Ella Boose got the run started with a score, then she assisted two straight
Jillian Bingman goals. Trailing 3-1 through one quarter, CSP got back within one goal early in the second. Once again, the Lakers answered back, getting goals from Boose and
Gracie Bancroft, to put them up 5-1 at the half.
Freshmen
Veronica Ziemer and
Tali Baldzicki each netted a goal in the third quarter, allowing GVSU to withstand two CSP goals in the fourth, and hold on for the win.
Ella Boose and
Jillian Bingman each tallied two goals, with Boose distributing two assists, and Bingman had one.
Tali Baldzicki,
Gracie Bancroft, and
Veronica Ziemer all tallied one goal, while
Indira Marker had one assist. Boose also added five draw controls.
Sarah Krause picked up the win in the cage, totaling seven saves and two groundballs.
Kylie Waeghe,
Tatumn Nyen,
Karleigh Rothe, and
Quinn McElroy all caused three turnovers for the Lakers, who forced 16 total. Waeghe, Rothe, McElroy, and Boose all had three groundballs.
