#8 Grand Valley State claimed a 3-0 shutout win over Purdue Northwest to open GLIAC play Friday (Mar. 27) afternoon at the Laker Baseball Field. The same two teams will play a Saturday twinbill beginning at 1 p.m.

Collin Bradley was dominating on the mound for the fourth consecutive game. Bradley improved to 5-0 on the year and lowered his ERA to 0.60. Bradley allowed just three hits with six strikeouts in 8.0 innings pitched versus the Pride. Bradley has not allowed a run in 24.2 innings and has not allowed an earned run in 28.1 innings. Junior
Zach Warren picked up his first save on the year, yielding one hit with one strikeout. The Laker starting pitchers have allowed just one unearned run in the last 33.0 innings (5 starts) and the pitching staff has logged back-to-back shutouts for the first time since 2018 vs. Purdue Northwest (9-0, 6-0).

Ryan Stimac walked to open the bottom of the fifth. Stimac moved to second on a sac bunt by LF
Caden Thelen and advanced to third on a
Nick Krstich groundout. Senior 2B
Ayden VanEnkevort followed with a two-out, two-strike single to center that plated Stimac and gave GVSU a 1-0 lead. The RBI was the 100th of VanEnkevort's career. CF
Jake Skaggs opened the bottom of the seventh with a single to right and Stimac walked. Both moved up a base on a wild pitch and Skaggs scored on a Krstich groundout. VanEnkevort added an RBI on a sac bunt for the final run of the game.
VanEnkevort was 1-for-2 with two RBI, while 1B
