Grand Valley State won a pair of games in Daytona Beach, Florida Friday, defeating the host Embry-Riddle 4-2 in 11 innings, then defeating Middle Georgia State 13-0. GVSU, 18-4, will face Middle Georgia State Saturday at 3 p.m. in a single, 9-inning game.
Game 1
Grand Valley State took a 1-0 lead on a
Caleb Estrada solo home run in the top of the fourth and built the lead to 2-0 in the top of the sixth when DH
Kaden Howard walked, moved to third on an Estrada single and scored on a sac bunt by CF
Jake Skaggs. Embry-Riddle tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the ninth to send the contest into extra innings.

Jovan Gill opened the 11
th with a single and
Nolan Alvord pinch ran for Gill. Estrada then tripled home Alvord and and Skaggs plated Estrada when he reached base. Relief pitcher
Zach Warren pitched a hitless 11
th for his second win of the year.
Senior RHP
Collin Bradley got the start on the mound, yielding just six hits with three strikeouts in 7.0 innings. Bradley has not allowed a run in 16 innings and has allowed just two unearned runs in his last 24.1 innings pitched. Estrada was 4-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored, while Skaggs drove in a pair of runs.
Game 2
The Lakers scored four unearned runs in the top of the first and never looked back, adding four more in the second and three in the third.
Skaggs was 1-for-2 with two runs scored and three RBI, while freshman DH
Josh Fleming was 2-for-3 with two RBI and LF
Caden Thelen was 2-for-2 with two RBI.
JJ Manion picked up the win on the mound, allowing just one hit with four strikeouts in 5.0 innings.
