#4 Grand Valley State Men's Wrestling Set For NCAA Championships

The #4-ranked Grand Valley State men's wrestling team will open action at the 2026 NCAA DII Men's Wrestling Championships Friday at 11 am (ET). All of the action at the two-day event will take place at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Lakers qualified eight student-athletes for the NCAA Championships, including four that are seeded in the top four and five that are in the top seven. 

Chris Donathan, who tallied a 9-0 mark this season and is 74-9 career, is seeded #1 at 149. Donathan is a four-time NCAA qualifier and earned All-American honors a year ago. Senior Jack Parker is 13-1 and seeded #3 at 125. Parker is in his first year with the Lakers after transferring from Bellarmine. Senior Josh Kenny, a two-time All-American and the NCAA DII National Champion at 174 in 2024, tallied a 16-2 record this season and is 67-14 in his career. Junior Carter Blough is a returning All-American at 285 and seeded fourth. Blough notched a 31-2 mark in 2026 and is 59-9 in his career at GVSU. 

Sophomore Brayden Mirjavadi is seeded #7 at 197 after posting a 28-9 record in 2026. Mirjavadi is appearing in his second NCAA DII National Championship tournament. Jak Keller (133), Maclain Morency (157) and Bradley Mayse (184) are first-time qualifiers. All three battled back through the super regional consolation bracket to take third place and advance. Keller is 18-10, while Morency is 9-7 and Mayse 26-11. 

Grand Valley State is in its third season as a varsity sport after a 32-year hiatus from varsity sport status.
