LAKELAND, Fla. – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team fell 5-2 at Florida Southern Tuesday (Mar. 10) afternoon in the sunshine state. The Lakers fall to 6-1 on the season.
Florida Southern claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Natasha Sengphrachanh and
Vale Mozas claimed a dominant 6-0 win at the top doubles position.
Ipek Sakiroglu and
Mischa Briggs dropped a 3-6 decision at No. 2 singles.
Lauren Burkett and
Rachel Sam dropped a tough 5-7 decision at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action,
Natasha Sengphrachanh claimed a 6-3, 7-6 straight set win at the top singles position.
Ipek Sakiroglu tallied a 3-6, 6-3, 6-0 three-set win at No. 4 singles.
Mischa Briggs dropped a 3-6, 1-6 decision at No. 2 singles.
Vale Mozas fell 3-6, 6-4, 6-7 at No. 3 singles.
Anna Soteras lost a 6-3, 5-7, 3-6 decision at No. 5 singles, while
Lauren Burkett dropped a 5-7, 6-7 decision at No. 6 singles.
