GRANDVILLE, Mich. – The Grand Valley State men's tennis team fell to Tiffin 4-3 Friday (Feb. 13) afternoon at Premier Athletic and Tennis Club. The Lakers fall to 3-1 on the season while Tiffin improves to 2-1.
Tiffin swept doubles action to claim the doubles point.
Bora Bakici and
Patricio Sepulveda dropped a tough 3-6 decision at the top doubles position.
Stephen Claassen and
Lawrence Ivanov lost a tough 5-7 decision at No. 2 doubles.
Jorge Ruiz and Axel Le ho fell 4-6 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action,
Denys Zamaraiev claimed a 6-3, 7-5 straight set win at the top singles position.
Bora Bakici tallied a 1-6, 6-1, 6-2 three-set win at No. 2 singles.
Axel Le Ho posted a 6-1, 6-4 straight set win at No. 5 singles.
Patricio Sepulveda dropped a tough 6-7, 4-6 decision at No. 3 singles.
Jorge Ruiz fell 2-6, 0-6 at No. 4 singles, while
Santiago Castellanos dropped a 4-6, 0-6 decision at No. 6 singles
The Lakers will close the weekend at home tomorrow, February 14
th at 5:00 PM at Premier Athletic and Tennis Club against McKendree.
