ALLENDALE, MICH. – For a program-record 27th consecutive time, the Grand Valley State women's basketball team came away victorious, this time defeating Purdue Northwest Saturday afternoon. After a slow start shooting the ball, GVSU came alive to win 89-61. They are now 14-0 overall and 6-0 in GLIAC play.

The Pride were able to build up an early four-point lead at 13-9 just over halfway through the opening quarter. GVSU answered back with a quarter-ending 11-2 run, earning seven points at the charity stripe, to lead 20-15.

Grand Valley State continued their run into the second half, scoring the first six points, extending their lead up to 26-15. PNW chipped the deficit down to five points at the 3:00 mark of the quarter, but Lexi Plitzuweit buried a triple to ignite a 14-2 run to put the Lakers up 45-28 at the half.

Nicole Kamin scored two points, and Paige VanStee had four points to open the second half and get the Laker lead over 20 points. The lead hovered around that 20 point mark the rest of the quarter, with neither team able to go on a run, resulting in a 65-42 Laker lead as the fourth quarter began.

An 11-2 Pride run to start the fourth brought them within 14, at 67-53. The Lakers responded with 14-4 run to build the lead back above 20 points, where it would stay for the remainder of the contest.

Paige VanStee tallied her second double-double of the season, posting 25 points and 11 boards. Lexi Plitzuweit and Ava Scanlon each totaled 12 points, with Plitzuweit adding eight rebounds. Reese Gaytan had nine points, with Nicole Kamin and Avery Lay each notching seven.
