Grand Valley State Captures 31st GLIAC Presidents' Cup Trophy

Grand Valley State captured the 2024-25 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Presidents' Cup Trophy, the all-sports trophy awarded at the end of the year to the conference member that demonstrates general excellence in all sports, the league announced. GVSU has now won 26 consecutive Presidents' Cup titles and 31 overall in school history.
 
"We are extremely excited and humbled to capture the Presidents' Trophy," said Director of Athletics Keri Becker. "The GLIAC is an outstanding conference with a rich tradition of excellence in every sport, so it is an incredible feat to win this trophy," added Becker. 

Grand Valley State scored a dominating 168.0 points, well ahead of second place Saginaw Valley State (113.0), third place Wayne State (108.0), and fourth place Ferris State (106.0). The Lakers claimed a league record 12 GLIAC titles during the 2024-25 campaign, with the women scoring 96.0 points and the men 72.0. The standings are based on final regular season standings except for the following sports, which are based on conference tournament finish: cross country, golf, indoor and outdoor track & field and swimming and diving.

3. Wayne State – 108.0
4. Ferris State – 106.0
5. Davenport – 91.5
6. Northern Michigan – 80.0
7. Parkside – 78.0
8. Michigan Tech – 55.0
9. Purdue Northwest – 53.0
10. Lake Superior State – 39.5
11. Roosevelt – 39.0

Grand Valley State won women's GLIAC championships in cross country, indoor track & field, basketball, swimming & diving, lacrosse, golf, outdoor track & field, while capturing men's titles in cross country, swimming & diving, indoor track & field, tennis and outdoor track & field.

In addition to winning every Presidents' Trophy from 1998-99 to 2024-25, GVSU also notched the all-sports trophy in 1978-79, 1977-78, 1974-75, 1973-74, and 1972-73.
