Laker Golf Ends Day Two At National Championships

BOULDER CITY, NEV. – The GVSU women's golf team finished off day two at the NCAA Championships, ending the day in 11th. They are just one stroke back of the eight spot, the place they need to be to advance to match play after tomorrow's final round.

Cal State San Marcos continues to lead, ending day two at twelve under. In second is Dallas Baptist, carding -9, followed by Anderson at -7 in third. Flagler is fourth at four under and Findlay is at -3 to end day two in fifth. The Lakers ended at nine over, one stroke back eighth, which is occupied with a three-way tie between Henderson State, Central Missouri, and Cal State East Bay.
 
Julia Sanchez and Chalotte Goersch both carded rounds of even-par 72 today. Sanchez sank four birdies to end in a tie for 52nd at four over. Goersch ended in a tie for 62nd, also making four birdies to end at five over. Lea Stotz entered the lineup as a sub, and shot a 73 (+1), making three birdies. Olivia Stoll and Paula Badino shot 77s (+5). Stoll is in a tie for 21st at one over, making four birdies today, while Badino made a birdie and an eagle to end in a tie for 44th at three over.
 
The Lakers will play day three alongside Henderson State and Midwestern State, teeing off at 9:10 am pacific time.
