ALLENDALE, Mich. – Beginning Wednesday, April 30, Lakers track and field will host the 2025 GLIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the GVSU Lacrosse/Track and Field Complex. The championships continue through Friday afternoon and awards will follow the conclusion of Friday's events.

The women's squad is in the hunt for their 25
th consecutive GLIAC outdoor title, while the men will compete for their seventh consecutive and 18
th title in program history. Both teams are ranked first in the conference and in the Midwest Region headed into post-season competition. Nationally, the women sit at second in Division II while the men are ranked fourth.
The first day of events will only see competition from one Laker,
Mason Floria, who will compete in the men's decathlon. The day begins at 1:30 p.m. with the 100m, followed by the long jump, shot put, high jump and 400m events. The remaining five events (110m hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin and 1500m) will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday.
Day two of the GLIAC Championships include the remaining multi events, four field events per gender and nine running events (per gender). Hammer, long jump, pole vault and javelin represent the field on Thursday beginning at 2:30 p.m. Running events begin at 2:30, as well, and include the preliminary 1500m, 100m/110m hurdles, 400m, 100m, 800m, 400m hurdles and 200m events, as well as the 3000m steeplechase and 10000m events.
Friday begins with field events at 10 a.m., as competitors in men's shot put and triple jump and women's discus and high jump take the field. Running events begin at 11:10 a.m. All athletes advancing from Thursday's preliminary events will compete in the finals of their respective event. The men's and women's 5000m and 4x400 relay events take place following the conclusion of finals.
Tickets for the 2025 GLIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships may be purchased online at GVSUTickets.com or in person Thursday and Friday. Wednesday's events will not be ticketed.
