#9 Grand Valley State claimed a 4-0 victory over Wayne State Saturday afternoon and won the series 3-1. The Lakers improve to 31-10 overall and 14-6 in GLIAC action.
Grand Valley State used a pair of two-out, two-run singles in the second and fourth innings to earn the win. 2B

Caden Thelen was hit by a pitch with two outs. A wild pitch advanced to the runners up a base and RF
Ryan Stimac singled to center to plate VanEnkevort and Thelen. In the fourth inning VanEnkevort singled and Thelen walked, followed by a Stimac fielder's choice. 3B
Caleb Estrada was hit by a pitch to load the bases. SS
Evan Morrison came through with a 2-out single to left to score Stimac and Thelen and give GVSU a 4-0 lead.
Four runs were all the Laker pitching staff would need. Senior Alan Thorington was stellar on the mound, not allowing a Wayne State hit until the sixth inning. Thorington, who improved to 5-0 on the year, yielded just three hits with five strikeouts in 7.1 innings pitched and allowed just one runner to reach second base. Junior
