ALLENDALE – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team closed out the weekend homestand with a dominant 7-0 sweep over Michigan Tech Saturday (April 12) afternoon. The Lakers improve to 12-4 on the season and 6-1 in the GLIAC.
GVSU swept doubles action to claim the double point.
Neus Ramos and
Vale Mozas tallied a 6-4 win at the top singles position.
Rachel Sam and
Estefania Hernandez posted a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles.
Ipek Sakiroglu and
Kalomoira Ralli added a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action,
Neus Ramos claimed a 6-4, 6-4 straight set win at the top singles position.
Vale Mozas tallied a 6-2, 7-5 straight set win at No. 2 singles.
Anna Soteras posted a dominant 6-2, 6-0 straight set win at No. 3 singles.
Estefania Hernandez recorded a 6-1, 6-2 straight set win at No. 4 singles.
Ipek Sakiroglu claimed a 6-0, 6-2 straight set win at N0. 5 singles.
Kalomoira Ralli added a 3-6, 6-4, 10-5 three-set win at No. 6 singles.
GVSU will close the regular season on the road next week Friday, April 18
th when they travel to Davenport for the crosstown showdown. First serve is set for 11:00 AM.
