TAMPA, Fla. – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team finished their trip to Florida with a 5-2 win against #22 Tampa. The Lakers improve to 6-2 on the season.
GVSU claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
Neus Ramos and
Vale Mozas earned a 6-3 win at the top doubles position.
Estefania Hernandez and
Rachel Sam tallied a 6-2 win at no. 2 doubles.
Anna Soteras and Kalomoira dropped a tough 4-6 decision at No. 3 doubles.
In singles,
Anna Soteras claimed a 6-1, 7-5 straight set win at No. 3 singles.
Estefania Hernandez posted a dominant 6-0, 6-0 straight set win at No. 4 singles.
Ipek Sakiroglu earned a 6-3, 6-0 straight set win at No. 5 singles.
Kalomoira Ralli tallied a 6-4, 6-4 straight set win at No. 6 singles.
Neus Ramos dropped a tough 3-6, 4-6 decision at the top singles position.
Vale Mozas lost a tough 5-7, 4-6 decision at No. 2 singles.
The Lakers will be back on the court next week Saturday, March 15 when they host Illinois-Chicago. First serve is set for 5:00 PM at Premier Athletic and Tennis Club in Grandville, Michigan.
