BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Valley State men's tennis team claimed a big 5-2 road win over rival Ferris State Friday (March 28) afternoon. The Lakers improve to 10-2 on the season and 3-0 in the GLIAC.
Ferris State swept doubles action to claim the doubles point.

Lucas Gonzalez dropped a tough 5-7 decision at the top doubles position.
Stephen Claassen and
Lawrence Ivanov lost a tough 5-7 decision at No. 2 doubles.
Denys Zamaraiev and
Chimo Minguez fell 4-6 at No. 3 singles.
GVSU responded with a dominant effort in singles action.
Denys Zamaraiev claimed a 6-1, 6-4 straight set win at the top singles position.
Victor Lopes tallied a 6-4, 6-4 straight set win at No. 3 singles.
Jorge Ruiz posted a 6-4, 6-4 straight set win at No. 4 singles.
Patricio Sepulveda recorded a 7-5, 6-1 straight set win at No. 5 singles.
Lawrence Ivanov added a 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 three-set win at No. 6 singles.
Lucas Gonzalez dropped a tough 3-6, 6-3, 4-6 three-set decision at No. 2 singles.
The Lakers will close out the weekend on the road tomorrow at Wayne State. First serve is set for 10:00 AM in Detroit, Michigan.
