LAKELAND, Fla. – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team claimed a 5-2 win against Charleston Friday (Feb. 28) afternoon in Lakeland, Florida. The Lakers improve to 5-1 on the season.
GVSU claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Rachel Sam and
Estefania Hernandez earned a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles.
Kalomoira Ralli and
Ipek Sakiroglu tallied a 6-3 win at No. 3 singles.
Neus Ramos and
Vale Mozas dropped a tough 1-6 decision at the top doubles position.
In singles action,
Anna Soteras claimed a dominant 6-0, 6-1 straight set win at No. 3 singles.
Estefania Hernandez earned a 6-0, 3-6, 6-0 three-set win at No. 4 singles.
Ipek Sakiroglu tallied a 6-3, 6-3 straight set win at No. 5 singles.
Kalomoira Ralli added a 6-3, 4-6, 10-3 three-set win at No. 6 singles.
The Lakers will be back on the court on Monday, March 3
rd when they travel to Winter Park, Florida to take on Rollins. First serve is set for 1:00 PM.
