ALLENDALE, MICH. – The GVSU women's basketball team kicks off the month of March with their final game of the regular season on Saturday. The Lakers of Grand Valley State will host the Lakers of Roosevelt in the last game before next week's GLIAC Tournament.

GVSU has locked up the one seed in the GLIAC Tournament and they are trying to do the same with the top seed in the region. They were selected as the number one seed in this week's NCAA regional rankings, entering this weekend at 28-2 overall. Grand Valley State dismantled Davenport on Tuesday, winning 80-32.
MacKenzie Bisballe had 17 points and seven rebounds, with
Rylie Bisballe adding 13 points and six boards.
Paige Vanstee scored 11 points, with
Nicole Kamin totaling seven points, seven rebounds, and six assists. The Lakers are ranked second nationally by the WBCA and have won three straight games.
In the first matchup of the season down in Chicago, Roosevelt led after the first quarter, 18-14, but GVSU outscored them by nine points in the second, eight in the third, six in the fourth to pull out a 70-51 victory.
Nicole Kamin had a monster game, tallying 17 points, six rebounds, six assists, and five steals.
Abrie Cabana recorded 10 points, with
Hadley Miller hitting three triples to finish at nine points.
MacKenzie Bisballe tallied nine points and five blocks.
Roosevelt is coming off their best month of the season, going 7-2 across February, rising up to sixth in the GLIAC at 12-13 overall and 10-9 in the league. This will be their third game of the week, falling to Northern Michigan on Monday, then turning around and defeating Davenport Thursday night. Over the month of February, the Lakers increased their scoring average to 72 points a game, up from their season average of 65. A key to that run has been the play of senior Luka Malika, who has scored in double-figures in 10 straight games and ranks second in the GLIAC at 15.4 points a game. Jayla Turchin (15
th, 12.9) and Marie Outlaw (19
th, 11.6) are also averaging double-figures and are in the top-20 in scoring in the conference.
