MIDLAND, Mich. – The Grand Valley State women's tennis improved to 4-1 on the season after defeating Northwood 6-1 on the road Friday (Feb. 21) afternoon.
Northwood claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
Neus Ramos and
Anna Soteras dropped a tough 3-6 decision at the top doubles position.
Rachel Sam and
Estefania Hernandez fell 5-7 at No. 2 douvles.
GVSU swept singles action to claim the 6-1 win.
Neus Ramos claimed a 6-1, 6-4 straight set win at the top singles position.
Vale Mozas earned a 6-4, 6-1 straight set win at No. 2 singles.
Anna Soteras tallied a 7-5, 6-4 straight set win at No. 3 singles.
Estefania Hernandez posted a 6-2, 6-3 straight set win at No. 4 singles.
Ipek Sakiroglu added a 6-1, 6-2 straight set win at No. 5 singles.
Nadia Rodewald picked up a win by default at no. 6 singles.
The Lakers will be back on the courts next week when they travel to Florida for three matches. GVSU will face Charleston next week Friday on February 28
th at 11:00 AM in Lakeland, Florida.
